Galerie IRIS CORNELIS opened its doors in October 2010 and is housed in a typical building of Jacobusstraat 211 in Rotterdam (NL). The bright and pleasant space emphasises the openness, which the gallery seeks to bridge the gap between art, audience and artist.

The gallery is run in a very personal way by owner Iris Cornelis. Her approach is characterised by the choice of artists and by the way in which she, in close collaboration with the artists, presents their work. The gallery represents artists from a variety of fields including: painting, photography, video art, textiles and performing arts. When there are artists exhibiting from different disciplines there is always an interconnection between them, with a common theme.

Iris Cornelis (1966, Rotterdam) was originally a photographer. She lived for over 8 years in London, where she did her training and later worked as a freelance photographer. After returning to Rotterdam, she held various positions in the Rotterdam art and culture industry. She has organised numerous art exhibitions and music events.
